The ACS unit offers notary services for documents to be used in the United States.

For us to notarize your documents, you must:

• Have a government-issued photo ID, e.g. a passport.
• Understand your document, as we are not allowed to explain the contents to you.
• Have filled in the document with the appropriate names, places and dates.
• Don't sign it; you'll sign it at the Embassy or Consulate in front of the Consular Officer.
• Make an appointment with us online: appointment system.
• The fee is $ 50 for each notary service.

Please Note: Due to government regulations, we cannot provide the following services:

• Notarization/legalization/authentication of documents issued by state or county governments, including drivers’ licenses.
• W-7 Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs), which are handled by the IRS office US Embassy Paris. For more information, please see http://france.usembassy.gov/irs.html 
• Medallion Signature Guarantees
• Notarization/legalization/authentication of U.S. academic credentials. An Apostille must be obtained from the Secretary of State for the U.S. state in which the documents were issued.
• Form I-864 (Affidavit of Support), which no longer requires notarization.
• Certified copies ("true copies") of original, non-U.S. documents. Unless requested by a government agency.
