Viewers and Players

What are viewers and players (plug-ins)?

Some HNRIM Web pages have links to files that may require software downloads—called “plug-ins”—to help you properly view or play these files. Plug-ins are optional software additions that let you watch Internet movies and animation, hear sound and music, and read special Adobe documents, for example.

How do I get the plug-ins I need?

The plug-ins below can be downloaded for free and will enable you to view or play all of the file formats on HNRIM’s website:

Adobe Acrobat Reader (for files ending in.pdf)

Description: Adobe Acrobat Reader is a program that allows users to view files in Portable Document Format (PDF). PDF is a universal file format that preserves the appearance of the original document. PDF files can be easily printed but not easily modified.

Word Viewer (for files ending in .doc or .docx)

PowerPoint Viewer (for files ending in .ppt or .pptx)
