RSS Feeds |
What is RSS? Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is an easy way for you to be alerted when content that interests you appears on your favorite websites. Instead of visiting a website to browse for new articles and features, RSS automatically notifies you when something new is posted online through your news reader. |
SMS (text messaging) PTWC bulletins are available via SMS on mobile phones for some emergency managers in Pacific, Asian, and African countries. Please see the RANET Project website: There are also various RSS-to-SMS services on the Internet that allow one to receive SMS alerts when RSS feeds are updated (for example: Yahoo! Alerts, ZapTXT, Rasasa, FeedBeep). Another option is the USGS Earthquake Notification Service (ENS), which allows you to receive custom automated earthquake alerts via email or SMS. |
