Medical Review Board

U.S. Secretary of Transportation Norman Y. Mineta announced the first Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Medical Review Board (MRB) in March 2006. Five medical experts will serve on the board for 2-year terms. FMCSA is planning reviews of the physical qualification regulations for commercial motor vehicle drivers, and the board will provide the necessary science-based guidance to establish realistic and responsible medical standards. More information about the Medical Review Board can be found on the MRB Web site at http://mrb.fmcsa.dot.gov.
