  • U.S. Embassy Staff tour historic Bridgetown

    On Sunday August 12, 2012, staff from the U.S. Embassy to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, family, and friends learned all about Bridgetown's rich history and heritage on a walking tour led by Senator Professor Henry Frasier. 

  • Foreign Service Officer’s Test

    U.S. Embassy in Bridgetown will be administering the Foreign Service Officer’s Test (FSOT) on September 29, 2012 from 9:00am to 12:00noon at the Embassy Chancery, Wildey, St. Michael, Barbados. The deadline for candidates to submit completed registration forms, if they intend to test overseas (Bridgetown), is Monday, September 17, 2012.

  • Caribbean Defense Leaders Take Part in Distinguished Visitors Program

    Defense, security and disaster response leaders from across the Caribbean gathered in Barbados today to observe the ongoing Tradewinds 2012 exercise. Attorneys General, army chiefs of staff and police commissioners were among the officials who participated in the Distinguished Visitors' Program portion of Tradewinds. 

  • American Chamber of Commerce Coming to the Eastern Caribbean

    Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean will soon join the worldwide family of countries with American Chambers of Commerce (AmCham). This announcement was made recently at a business reception where new U.S. Ambassador to Barbados Larry L. Palmer met with members of the American business community in Barbados. 

  • U.S. Embassy Presents Books to Barbados Association of Reading

    The United States Embassy continued its commitment to education in Barbados when it presented a set of books to the Barbados Association of Reading to be used for special education teaching. The donation is a direct follow up to a program held earlier this year when the Embassy partnered with the Reading Association to bring American special education expert Dr. Vicky Spencer to Barbados.  

  • TradeWinds 2012 Begins in Barbados

    Law enforcement and defense forces from the United States, Canada and 15 Caribbean countries gathered in Barbados on Friday for the start of Exercise Tradewinds 2012. Tradewinds is a U.S. Southern Command-sponsored annual security training exercise.

  • 29 Peace Corps Volunteers Sworn In

    29 Peace Corps Volunteers were sworn in to service in the Eastern Caribbean in April, seven volunteers each in the islands of Grenada, Dominica, St. Lucia and St. Vincent and one on the island of Carricou.

  • “Books in a Bag” Program Rolls in to Barbuda

    The U.S. Embassy’s new reading initiative rolled into the Holy Trinity Primary School and the Sir McChesney George Secondary School on Thursday as we brought the “Books in a Bag” program to Barbuda.
