Military & Defense
Supporting our troops and their families is an imperative we all share. This means we must do what it takes to ensure our troops receive the support and resources they need to defend our freedom and security. From providing top-of-the-line body armor and readily-equipped vehicles, ensuring fair pay for service members, and easing the transition to civilian life for returning service members, I will continue to fight for the benefits earned by Ohioans who serve in our Armed Forces.

Ohio lawmakers lobby for Rickenbacker
WASHINGTON - Ohio’s congressional delegation has launched its first salvo in an attempt to land a fleet of new refueling tankers for Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base in Columbus.
The entire delegation — including House Speaker John Boehner, R-West Chester, who rarely signs delegation letters because of his House leadership position — sent a letter to Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh and Air Force Secretary Michael B. Donley this week urging the two to pick the base’s 121st Air Refueling Wing to handle 12 KC-46A aircraft.
Rickenbacker faces the possible loss of six of its 18 KC-135s because of military cutbacks, and landing the new…Read More
