Department of Transportation is responsible to plan, design, construct, operate, and maintain State facilities in all modes of transportation, including air, water, and land. Coordination with other State, County, and Federal programs is maintained in order to achieve the objective.

H-1 Freeway Sunday Daytime Lane Closures From Pearl City To Waipahu
01/02/13 - Two left lanes will be closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Pearl City/Waimalu Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 8B) on the following Sundays: Jan. 13, Feb. 3, and Feb. 10. The two left lanes will be closed from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., for continuing repairs that include concrete demolition and pouring of new concrete. A third lane will be closed from 6:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Two left lanes in the eastbound direction will also be closed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Keaau-Pahoa Road Roundabout Public Informational Meeting On January 16
12/31/12 - All interested parties are invited to a public informational meeting regarding planned improvements at the Keaau-Pahoa Road and Old Government Road intersection in Pahoa. The meeting is scheduled for Wed., Jan. 16, at 6 p.m., at the Pahoa Neighborhood Facility, located at 15-3022 Kauhale Street. The intent of the project is to improve safety and traffic flow by converting the existing T-intersection into a single-lane modern roundabout.

Hawaii State ID Program Moving To County Driver's Licensing Offices Statewide
12/21/12 - The Hawaii State Identification Card program will be transferring from the responsibility of the Department of the Attorney General to the DOT, and will be administered by Honolulu, Maui, Hawaii, and Kauai counties, beginning Wed., Jan. 2, 2013.

New Kahului Airport Security Screening Checkpoint Dedicated
12/18/12 - In collaboration with the Transportation Security Administration and the Airlines Committee of Hawaii, DOT dedicated a new security screening checkpoint at Kahului Airport today which will increase the number of screening lanes from six to nine and help to reduce wait times for air travelers.
