EXHIBITION OVERVIEW
The American Treasures Exhibition has closed and is now available online only. The American Treasures of the Library of Congress exhibition is an unprecedented permanent exhibition of the rarest, most interesting or significant items relating to America's past, drawn from every corner of the world's largest library. On display in the Jefferson Building Treasures Gallery in Washington, D.C., the American Treasures exhibition presents more than 250 items arranged in the manner of Thomas Jefferson's own library, the seed from which the present collections grew: Memory (History); Reason (Philosophy, including Law, Science and Geography); and Imagination (Fine Arts, including Architecture, Music, Literature and Sports). This online exhibition not only allows you to see the same "Treasures" currently on display, but also many additional exhibit objects that have been rotated out of exhibition for preservation reasons (see what exhibit objects are currently on display at the Library of Congress).
