The University of North Texas Discovery Park (formerly known as the UNT Research Park) preserves and protects the intellectual property assets of the University, licensing technology developed by its faculty and innovators and offering an integrated university campus environment for start-up companies to grow from a concept to commercialization.

Discovery Park is a 290-acre campus located 5 miles north of the UNT main campus in Denton, Texas. The campus currently includes a 554,000 square foot building, which is also occupied by the College of Engineering, the College of Information and the Computing and Information Technology CenterDiscovery Park promotes and supports  interactive and multidisciplinary STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) research, education, and training that benefits students, faculty, and the community, and expands economic development  by developing industry-university partnerships.

When fully developed, Discovery Park will be the only university affiliated research park nested in Dallas-Fort Worth, the fifth largest metropolitan area in the country, that will offer rentable space; wet and dry labs; a 10,000 class, 3000 sq. ft. clean room/nanofabrication facility, and a new $2,200,000 high performance computing facility that will be the largest such system among academic institutions in the north Texas region.
