Post-Op Hernia Pain Study Principal Investigator – Dr. Adam Smith (General Surgeon) Enrolled – 33 patients Studied the effectiveness of post-op pain medication in comparison to a placebo. This clinical study was conducted in various sites across the United States and University of North Texas Health Science Center had the highest number of enrollees.

Peripheral Vascular Disease Study Principal Investigator – Dr. Don Peska (Vascular Surgeon) Investigated a new drug to prevent further episodes of peripheral vascular disease.
- Bladder Cancer Study
Principal Investigator – Dr. Adam Smith
- Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy Study
Principal Investigator – Dr. Adam Smith This is a device study. It compares the effectiveness of Electrocautery vs a Harmonic Scalpel during a laparoscopic removal of the gall bladder.
- Lower Abdominal Surgery Post-Op Pain Study
Principal Investigator – Dr. Adam Smith This study compares the different doses of a pain medication versus a base dose of that medication.
- General Surgery (including knee surgery) Post-Op Pain Study
Principal Investigator – Dr. Al Yurvati This is also a study comparing the effectiveness of post-op pain medications.
- Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Post-Op Pain Study
Principal Investigator – Dr. Al Yurvati This study compares the effectiveness of a new investigational pain medication versus a placebo in Post-Coronary Artery Bypass Graft patients.
- CHARISMA Trial
Principal Investigator – Dr. Don Peska This study is about the prevention of further occurrence of ischemic complications in patients with known coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, hypertension, and stroke.
- Ear Wax Study
Principal Investigator – Dr. Randall Phillips This study investigates a new solution to treat impacted cerumen problems.
- Intra-abdominal Abscess Infection Study
Principal Investigator – Dr. German Berbel This is the study of a new investigational drug to treat infections.
