The University of North Texas is pleased to serve its student population in every way possible. We encourage you to be smart consumers when it comes to purchasing textbooks. All students are highly encouraged to review their buying options before making these types of purchases.

The UNT Follett Bookstore carries 100 percent of the textbook titles that are adopted by the University. Rent-a-Text is a new program that was launched in fall 2009 by the bookstore to offer students an opportunity to rent textbooks for a semester.

Currently more than 43 percent (or 1,313) of the titles that are being used are available in a new or used format for rent at saving up to 50 percent of the new retail price.

Last year UNT students saved over $1 million by renting books in the Rent-A-Text program. This is in addition to the other new, used and electronic formats that are available. 

Please be aware that a student of the University of North Texas is not under any obligation to purchase a textbook from a university-affiliated bookstore. The same textbooks may also be available from an independent retailer, including an online retailer.

In addition to providing multiple textbook and university apparel selections to students, the bookstore supports the UNT community through more than $90,000 in scholarships and donations to support campus organizations, clubs and programs.
