Dr. Coleen Swain, Director of the School of Education at The University of Texas at Tyler and this year's Department Learning Technologies Outstanding Alum, will present “Change: The Constant in Our World and the Life of a Faculty Member” at the COI Colloquium, December 5th, 6PM, Discovery Park, room B155. The AECT (Association of Educational Communications and Technology) 2012 Convention was held in Louisville, Kentucky October 30 – November 3rd. UNT COI was one of the educational sponsors of the conference and faculty and students from the Learning Technologies Department made a total of sixteen presentations.

COI Research Fridays resume October 19th. The brown bag discussion series is open to all students, faculty and staff to discuss research projects. Presentations are held in the LT Agora starting at noon the first and third Friday of all academic months.

Interactive and Virtual Digital Communication.This interdisciplinary academic certificate provides students written,visual and technical competencies required to successfully communicate in modern environments.

Dr. Yvonne Chandler has been elected to the Texas Library Association executive board as President-Elect. Dr. Chandler is an associate professor in LIS. Her research areas include legal information services, internet resources and services, and education for library and information services.
