October 3, 2012 Navy in Hawaii Wins Top Prize for Energy

PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM – Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam was the big winner today in a ceremony at the U.S. Navy Memorial in Washington, D.C. recognizing commands that are leading the way in energy security.

 

August 27, 2012 JVEF celebration to take place Aug. 30 at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam

PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM – The Joint Venture Education Forum (JVEF) will hold its 11th annual meeting celebration on Aug. 30, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Ford Island Conference Center on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH). Gov. Abercrombie will serve as the guest speaker and address JVEF's theme, "Partnerships Shine ~ Ka Pilina ‘?linolino." Men and women of the armed forces, educators, and community members who have played a role in enhancing education in Hawaii public schools throughout the past year will be recognized.

 

July 21, 2012 Cause of Ford Island house fire determined

JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM – A Federal Fire Dept. investigator determined the fire that broke out at a two-story residence on Ford Island Friday night was caused by a 7-year old boy playing with a lighter in a bedroom closet. The boy suffered minor burns to his arm and was treated on scene by FFD and City EMS. The boy’s parents and two older siblings were unharmed.
