    Since September 2011, the number of nonfarm jobs (private plus public sectors) in New York State increased by 135,200, or 1.6 percent, and the number of private sector jobs increased by 134,300, or 1.9 percent. Additional industry detail is presented in the table below.

    New York State's unemployment rate (not seasonally adjusted) was 8.2 percent in September 2012, unchanged from September 2011.
