About the Program

The VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS) pharmacy processes thousands of prescriptions daily. Many of these prescriptions are filled by the Central Mailout Pharmacy (CMOP). Prescriptions may be refilled by phone or the Internet.

All patients are encouraged to refill their prescriptions by internet or phone. For your convenience, process your request at least 10 days in advance to allow for timely and efficient handling of  your  refill needs.

Internet Refill

Prescriptions may also be filled online using VA's My HealtheVet program. You will need a user id and password to log in. If you do not have one, you can easily get one by creating your personal profile.

Automated Refill Line

An automated refill line is available for all VABHS patients. Please call one of the following numbers —

  • (857) 364-4419 - Automated Prescription Refill Line
  1. After you have dialed the number, wait for the automated attendant to answer.
  2. Press 1, for a medication request.
  3. Press 1, for a prescription refill request.
  4. Enter your entire social security number, then press the # key.  Wait for an answer.
  5. Press 2, for prescription information. (Menu below).
    1. Press 1, for a refill request.
    2. Press 2, to check on refill status.
    3. Press 3, for prescription educational information.
  6. Enter the prescription number, then press the # key.  Wait for an answer.
  7. To refill additional prescriptions, repeat the process.

If you are using the automated refill line, all refills should be ordered at least ten days prior to when the refill is due to insure prompt processing and delivery time.

Outpatient Pharmacies (Jamaica Plain, Brockton and West Roxbury)

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Saturday - 8:00 a.m. - 12N (West Roxbury only)

Community Based Outpatient Clinics (Causeway Street, Lowell, Worcester)

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Inpatient Pharmacy (inpatient hospitalized veterans only)

Brockton - 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Monday - Friday)
               - 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Saturday/Sunday)

West Roxbury - Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

All of the above services, except for the inpatient pharmacy, are closed on all federal holidays.
