U.S. Army Electronic Proving Ground

The Electronic Proving Ground reopened Fort Huachuca doors on 1 February 1954 when the Chief Signal Officer decided that the area and climate were ideal for testing electronic and communications equipment. The name was derived from the mission – to test, prove, explore, and evaluate systems and devices utilizing the electron – a simple descriptive name embracing its primary function as the Army's proving ground for testing and evaluating communications-electronics equipment and systems.

The small group of military and civilian pioneers found a very sparse population, austere facilities, and abundant wildlife, including buffalo grazing on the gunnery range. The mission grew and EPG remained the host activity until 1967 when the U.S. Army Strategic Communications Command, relocated its headquarters to Fort Huachuca.

The Electronic Proving Ground Web Site is provided as a public service by the Electronic Proving Ground and the Department of the Army.  Information presented on The Electronic Proving Ground Web is considered public information and may be distributed or copied for non-commercial purposes. Use of appropriate byline/photo/image credits is requested.  For site management, information is collected.  This government computer system uses software programs to create summary statistics, which are used for website planning and maintenance, determining technical design specifications, and analyzing system performance.  For security purposes, and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, this government computer system employs software programs to monitor network traffic, to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, to cause damage, or to deny service to authorized users.  Except for authorized law enforcement investigations, no other attempts are made to identify individual users or their usage habits. f. encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, or that gives rise to civil liability;

h. promotes or advertises any non-DoD religious entity or uses email to distribute information regarding the availability, services or features of any non-DoD religious entity;

You may not use USAEPG WebSite in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our servers or networks, or interfere with any other party's use and enjoyment of USAEPG WebSite. VII. NO SPAM

XII. TERMINATION

If you use this site, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password, if any, and for restricting access to your computer, and you agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account, password or CAC. If you are a full or administrative account holder, these same responsibilities apply to all accounts that you sponsor.
