The Florida Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan Program is currently inactive. In the event of a disaster, the Governor of Florida has the option to activate the Emergency Bridge Loan Program by Executive Order.
If the program is activated, you can visit the Florida Disaster Loan web site at http://www.floridadisasterloan.org/ for applications and full instructions for completing and submitting an Emergency Bridge Loan request as well as other disaster recovery resources.

MBDA provides funding for a network of Minority business centers located throughout the Nation. The Centers provide minority entrepreneurs with one-on-one assistance in writing business plans, marketing, management and technical assistance and financial planning to assure adequate financing for business ventures.
The Centers are staffed by business specialists who have the knowledge and practical experience needed to run successful and profitable businesses. Business referral services are provided free of charge. However, the network generally charges nominal fees for specific management and technical assistance services.
Working through our network of business centers, MBDA strives to create a new generation of minority-owned businesses generating $100 million in annual revenues. Our strategic focus is to maximize job creation and global competitiveness for minority-owned businesses and to foster innovation and entrepreneurship with minority-owned businesses in high-growth industries.
The MBDA Business Center located in Miami, Florida is operated by the M. Gill & Associates, Inc. The center is part of a national network of funded centers located in major cities throughout the United States. The center works with minority business enterprises to generate increased financing and contract opportunities and to create and retain jobs.
Performance Overview
In FY2011, MBDA helped Florida minority-owned businesses obtain 53 contracts totaling $215,178,057 and $245,466,128 in capital through 60 financial transactions.
For clients with gross annual revenues of $500,000 or more, MBDA Business Centers completed 99 transactions totaling $400,207,324. For clients with annual gross revenues below $500,000, MBDA Business Centers completed 14 transactions totaling $60,436,862.
MBDA assisted Florida minority-owned businesses in creating 913 new jobs in FY2011.

The Procurement Technical Assistance Center Program (PTAC) helps Florida businesses interested in obtaining contracts with the Department of Defense, other federal agencies, and state/local government agencies and participating prime contractors.
Counseling is provided free of charge to business entities with primary or branch offices in Florida that are small businesses, or other than small businesses, profit or non-profit, that have the market or potential or are seeking the goods/services to federal, state or local governments, that will sign a hold-harmless agreement, may become a client of the FPTAC program. As a client, the business is eligible and will be afforded access to the services offered. Inquires from out-of-state businesses will be referred to the PTA Center that services their area or state. Clients that are known to be out-of-business will be deleted from the current client data file.
