As the Army Component to United States Africa Command (USAFRICOM), U.S. Army Africa, in concert with national and international partners, conducts sustained security engagement with African land forces to promote peace, stability, and security in Africa. VICENZA OVERVIEW

Vicenza is located midway between Venice and Verona and is within a 3-hour drive of Florence, Milan, Bologna and the borders of Germany and Austria.

There are numerous multicultural opportunities throughout the Veneto Region including festivals, museums and historical sites. Visitors to Vicenza will also find easy and affordable access to a wide variety of outdoor activities in the nearby mountains, lakes and beaches.

Vicenza is known as the City of [Andrea] Palladio and is home to many great architectural sites including the Villa Rotonda.

The surrounding country of Vicenza is agricultural, but there are also quarries of marble, sulphur, copper, and silver mines.

The world-famous Gold Exposition takes place in Vicenza three times per year. Other industries are silk, pottery, and musical instruments.
