Appointment Standardization, Phase III, Training:
This training is to educate MTF CHCS users on upcoming changes to the CHCS appointing processes scheduled for implementation in late October, 2003. The training will be conducted via a series of regional teleconferences as well as other documents posted to this website. Please click the appropriate link below to download documents.
This training is for experienced CHCS appointing users, i.e., those who know and use CHCS I clinic profiles, templates, and schedules currently. Sites that are "newbies" to the CHCS appointing business should be encouraged to accomplish CHCS I appointing and scheduling computer based training first before logging into an APS III teleconference. The APS II CBT can be accessed by requesting access at https://chcswebsrvr.spawar.navy.mil. The training package is titled "APS II Changes CHCS Global Booking Management - MCP Booking and Scheduling."
Technical questions can be directed to the following phone numbers: (703) 310-0044, (703) 681-0039 Ext 3657, or (703) 681-6191
Appointment Standardization (APS) Business Rules Training: This training is
targeted at the Region and MTF's access managers and appointment system officers
and supervisors. The purpose of the training is to provide attendees with the
day-to-day business practices required to lead their organizations in their
conversion to the new APS methodology. The training will be conducted by
region. All CONUS training will be conducted in a central location in the
Washington, DC area. Attendees will attend one of six seminars that will last
one and one half days. Training has been completed in Europe and will be
scheduled for the Pacific in the near future.

Managed Care Program (MCP) Computer Based Training (CBT) 101: This
computer-based CD-ROM for training was sent to all MTFs in August 2000. It is
mainly targeted for novice CHCS MCP users. Beginners will be able to easily
navigate through the system at any point. This one hour training module is
focused on use of the keyboard in CHCS and some high level MCP functions only,
no booking training included. Visit this CBT at https://chcswebsrvr.spawar.navy.mil.
A user ID and password must be requested on this web page before the training can be accessed. Once you are assigned a user id/password, search the web page for CBT training.
MCP Booking, Scheduling, and Reports CBT - Advanced: This computer-based
training demonstrates how to book appointments in the MCP Healthcare Finder
module, how to build schedules and templates, and generate reports. It is
mainly targeted for new MCP booking users as well as the experienced user who
needs a refresher class. This 5 hour course CBT can be taken in individual
modules and is available on CD-ROM and the web. The CBT allows testing for
competency per Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations
(JCAHO) guidance. When taken on the web, competency feedback is available to
the user and supervisor. Visit this CBT at https://chcswebsrvr.spawar.navy.mil.
A user ID and password must be requested on this web page before the training can be accessed. Once you are assigned a user id/password, search the web page for CBT training.
MCP Super User Seminars: This regional training was conducted in the late
summer to early fall of 2000 as refresher training for MCP super users. It was
designed to assist sites that were in the process of converting to MCP. This 5
day course included modules on MCP booking and MCP file and table builds.
APS Phase II Change Package Training: This is technical training scheduled for
all MTFs in June and July 2001 during the APS II release. TMA will provide APS
business rules training to the technical trainers prior to them coming to the
sites to conduct training on the APS II change package.
