Letterkenny Child Development Center

Mission

To provide programs supporting the Army Family covenant for young children reducing the conflict between a Soldier’smission requirements and his or her parental responsibilities and mission requirements.

Philosophy

Ages 6 weeks – Kindergarten Letterkenny Army Child Development Center (CDC) is an on-post child care center that

offers full-day, part-time and hourly care for children in rich and stimulating environments where children can develop motor, cognitive, social and emotional skills through a balance of exploration and planned curriculum. Learning activities are designed to support the natural development of children and include individual, small group and large group experiences. Our philosophy is based on the idea that children learn practical life skills through programs and activities that emphasize fun, play, action, group and individual challenges supported by the National Association for the Education of Young Children standards.

Our goals

To provide a quality program in an environment where your child can enjoy developmental growth physically, cognitively, socially, and emotionally.

To facilitate family self-reliance and reinforce Army values.

To maintain affordability of child and youth programs for both patrons and the Army through researching metrics, operational efficiencies, and seamless service delivery.

To establish and sustain CYSS program quality as a "benchmark for the nation" in accordance with statutory requirements, DOD, and Army standards.
