CADET LIFE
Second Class Summer
Second class summer marks a significant transition from the role of a follower to that of a leader.

During Summer Training, you will be assigned to a series of programs that will provide opportunities to learn and practice new leadership skills. Activities include taking Leadership Courses, training incoming cadets at Swab Summer, serving aboard Eagle or other USCG cutters and working with prospective cadets in a number of programs, such as Academy Introduction Mission (AIM) and Naval Academy Prep School (NAPS).

In addition, cadets will be introduced to new areas of the Coast Guard through Weapons Familiarization training, Damage Control and Fire Fighting (DC/FF) instruction, the Ship Control and Navigation Training Simulator (SCANTS) and the Cadet Aviation Training Program (CATP).
