Diagnostic Tools

SFPC Diagnostic

To prepare for the Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) assessment, DSS recommends that participants use the SFPC Diagnostic Tools to gauge their individual level of expertise in the industrial, information, personnel, and physical security disciplines as well as general security topics. Participants should be made aware that the SFPC Diagnostic Tools are security reference resources, and the questions within the SFPC Diagnostic Tools are different from those in the SFPC assessment.

To assess your knowledge of each of the five topic areas, select links below to the diagnostics. After assessing your knowledge of each of the five topic areas, reference "Resources for SPēD" through STEPP at http://go.usa.gov/b6t to retrieve printable, individual course lessons and on-line web courses associated with the SFPC.

To access the resources, log in to your STEPP account. Select "Learn" at the top of the screen, then select "Catalog." Under the Certification Programs heading, select "Security Professional Education Development." Start the course "Resources for SPēD." A "Resources for SPēD" window will pop up.

SAPPC Diagnostic

The Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC) diagnostic tool PDF gives candidates an example of the scenario question types. This document presents examples of scenarios presented on the test. Each scenario is followed with questions that assess the candidate's understanding of the subject matter. Additionally, a listing of relevant Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 610 competencies, which align to the scenario and to existing learning content, is available for review.  Finally, a list of topic questions is presented after each scenario to provide an orientation of what to expect during the actual examination.
