Theodore Roosevelt Malloch is Chairman and Chief Executive officer of The Roosevelt Group, a leading strategic management and thought leadership company. He has served on the executive board of the World Economic Forum, which hosts the renowned annual Davos meeting in Switzerland. He held an ambassadorial level position in the United Nations in Geneva during the period when the Berlin wall collapsed and the cold war ended.

Malloch has been a Senior Fellow of the Aspen Institute, where he previously directed all of its national seminars. He was also President of the CNN World Economic Development Congress that focused on “building the integrated global economy” attended by 2500 international CEOs, Ministers of Governments, investment, and economic leaders. At that meeting Margaret Thatcher dubbed him “a global sherpa.” He has worked with Salomon Brothers on Wall Street, as head of consulting and research for Wharton Econometrics, and has held senior positions in the U.S. State Department and the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations. He has taught at a number of leading colleges and universities and appears frequently on television and in print.

An accomplished author, his most recent books are: Spiritual Enterprise: Doing Virtuous Business, Encounter Books 2008 (over 25,000 copies sold) and Renewing American Culture: The Pursuit of Happiness, 2006, with Scott Massey, which has been made into an Emmy nominated PBS documentary. His latest books are: Thrift: Rebirth of a Forgotten Virtue, Encounter Books, 2009; and Being Generous, Templeton Press, 2009.

Malloch serves on several corporate, mutual fund and not-for-profit boards, including the University of Toronto International Governing Council, a Pew Charitable Trust board, the Templeton Foundation; and as an advisor to many think tanks including, The Hudson Institute, American Foreign Policy Council, and the Social Affairs Unit in the U.K.

Ted earned his Ph.D. in international political economy (dissertation: 'Beyond Reductionsim') from the University of Toronto where he studied on a Hart House open fellowship. He took his BA from Gordon College and an M.Litt. from an ancient Scottish university as a St. Andrew’s Society scholar. He was awarded an honorary LL.D. degree from the University of Aberdeen in 2008 for his contribution to "civil society". He founded and is Chairman of the Spiritual Enterprise Institute, which focuses on the virtue of spiritual capital. He is active in the Episcopal Church.
