Prior to arriving at the Academy in August 2009, Lieutenant Commander Ripley was the Sector Boston Intelligence Officer. While assigned there, he was also part of a D1 lead team that drafted the recently published Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Threat Assessment for LNG ships departing high risk countries. Prior to Sector Boston, he was an Atlantic Area Intelligence (Ai) maritime counterdrug analyst, networking with national level intelligence and collaborating counterdrug statistics for Coast Guard operational units and decision makers. While at Ai, he also provided statistical and editing support for the Interagency Assessment for Cocaine Movement, a national-level intelligence interagency publication. Prior to entering the Coast Guard Intelligence Program in 2002, he served at Group Saint Petersburg Florida, assigned as the Executive Officer’s Administrative Assistant, Group Duty Officer, Morale Officer, and Medical Officer. He is a 1994 graduate of Officer Candidate School.
