Demonstration Center

The Biometrics Identity Management Agency (BIMA) Demonstration Center is used to educate BIMA visitors. It features demonstrations of current and future technologies, as well as a general discussion of DoD and BIMA biometrics initiatives. Tours are tailored to the audience, be it a group of biometrics experts unfamiliar with BIMA, or personnel from other agencies that may have never seen a biometric device. Tours usually run from 10 to 90 minutes and can be arranged by coordinating with BIMA Strategic Communications Team. The Demonstration Center can accommodate up to 10 visitors per tour.

Tours include demonstrations of:

  • HSPD-12 compliant biometrics access control systems
  • Biometric systems used for maritime Vessel Boarding and Search and Seizure (VBSS) operations
  • Current base access systems that incorporate biometrics
  • Currently deployed platforms used to collect and verify biometric data from Known or Suspected Terrorists (KSTs)
  • Future technologies such as face recognition for surveillance
  • A video about the BIMA mission, organization, and initiatives
