The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) is a U.S. Department of Energy institute focusing on scientific initiatives to research health risks from occupational hazards, assess environmental cleanup, respond to radiation medical emergencies, support national security and emergency preparedness, and educate the next generation of scientists.

Sept. 10, 2012 - Evasius selected as ORAU’s vice president and director of science education programs

Oak Ridge Associated Universities has named Dr. Dean Evasius as vice president and director of science education programs.

March 12, 2012 - ORISE receives continued recognition at the Star level in DOE VPP

ORISE, which is managed by ORAU, was recently recognized for its pursuit of excellence in health and safety and for achieving continued recognition at the Star level in DOE’s VPP.

On Sept. 21-22, more than 350 Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) students and regional medical professionals participated in the Agents of Opportunity for Terrorism course to become more prepared to respond to a crisis involving radiological or chemical agents.
