Tribal Historic Preservation Office Program

The information is posted to assist Tribal Historic Preservation Offices (THPO) in the management of their Historic Preservation Fund (HPS) grants, awarded for the operations of their programs.

2012 THPO HPF Grant Application Deadline

Applications for FY 2012 funding must be submitted to James Bird, Chief, Tribal Preservation Program, at the National Park Service by March 30, 2012. Funds that are not applied for by this date may be subject to recapture and reapportionment.

All required application forms can be downloaded from this page under the heading "Application". Please note that NPS will not process your 2012 application until your 2010 grant has been closed out, and your 2011 Annual Report has been approved.

APPLICATION
To apply for 2012 Funding:

1. All Tribes MUST register in the Federal Central Contractor Registration (CCR) system in order to obtain their funding. Register now at https://www.bpn.gov/ccr/default.aspx

2. All THPOs must download, complete and mail application forms (a-g listed below) to NPS within 45 days of receiving written notification of their apportionment. Packages should be mailed to:

Equipment Forms
Equipment includes all tangible, nonexpendable, personal property, with a useful life of more than one year and a cost of $5,000 or more per unit. All equipment purchased with HPF funds must be approved by NPS prior to purchase, reported on each year, and disposed of only after obtaining NPS approval and instructions. Below are the forms to complete for requesting, reporting and disposing of equipment purchased under your HPF grants.

SF-428 Tangible Personal Property Report - Submit to NPS to request equipment (list item, cost and reason for purchase in comments section)
SF-428-Attachment A - Annual Report - Submit to NPS with SF428 as part of Annual Report
SF-428-Attachment C - Disposition Request/Report - Submit to NPS with SF428 to request disposition approval
