Colonel Glenn H. Goldman is an “Army Brat”, born in Heidelberg, Germany. He graduated from Stuttgart American High School in Germany, June 1980. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the US Military Academy at West Point and was commissioned a 2d Lieutenant of Field Artillery in May 1984. COL Goldman’s first assignment was with the 3rd Infantry Division in Germany where he served as a Recon-Survey Officer, Battery Executive Officer, and Howitzer Platoon Leader and as the Aide-de-Camp to the Assistant Division Commander for Support.
 
In Sept 1989, he reported to Ft Bragg, NC to serve as a Fire Support Officer in the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division which included combat operations in Operations JUST CAUSE (Panama) and DESERT STORM (Iraq). After successfully commanding ‘B’ Battery, 3rd Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, he was reassigned to the Army’s Personnel Command in Alexandria, VA to serve as an Assignments Officer and Personnel Account Manager. In July 1997, he moved to Ft. Wainwright, AK to be the 1st Brigade, 6th Infantry Division’s (Arctic-Light) Fire Support Officer, later serving as the Battalion Executive Officer, 4th Battalion, 11th Field Artillery, 172nd Infantry Bde. In July 1999, he returned to Germany to serve as the Deputy Senior Fire Support Observer/Controller and Operations Group Executive Officer at the US Army Combat Maneuver Training Center, Hohenfels. From July ‘02 to July ‘04, he successfully commanded the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Field Artillery, a light artillery battalion, Ft Sill, OK. After battalion command, he served in a key and critical joint/combined billet as the Deputy Chief/Executive Officer, CJ3 Ops Division, HQs, US Forces Korea/United Nations Command. In July ’07, COL Goldman assumed duties as the 10th Mountain Division’s Fire Support/Effects Coordinator, Ft Drum, NY which included a 13-month combat tour in Iraq. In July ‘09 COL Goldman took command of 2nd Brigade, U.S. Army Cadet Command.
 
COL Goldman has been awarded two Master of Arts Degrees; Public Management and Administration from Troy State University and National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. College of Naval Warfare. His military education includes: Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, German Army Combat Arms Tactics Course, Chemical Defense School (Honor Graduate), Infantry Officer Advance Course, Combined Arms Service Staff School, Joint Firepower Controller Course (Distinguished Honor Graduate) and US Army Command & General Staff College.
 
His awards and decorations include: The Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal (1 OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4OLC), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1OLC), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal with Combat Assault Arrowhead, Southwest Asia Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, German Cross of Honor in Silver and the Meritorious Unit Citation (1OLC). Additionally, he has earned the Combat Action Badge, Master Parachutist Badge with one Combat Service Star, Pathfinder Badge, Ranger Tab, and German Army Jump Wings in Bronze along with the German Army Military Proficiency Badge in Gold.
