During summer training, cadets learn about leadership through immersion in the ultimate setting – the operational Coast Guard. They learn about the roles of officers and the enlisted as they see the United States and the world as members of a Coast Guard crew.  

Cadets in summer training find themselves in thrilling experiences: 

• Sailing the tall ship Eagle to ports of call around the world
• Performing Coast Guard missions aboard ships deployed worldwide
• Cadet Aviation Training Program
• Navy Dive School
• Damage Control School
• Law Enforcement Training
• Basic Weapons Qualification Training
• Internships in Engineering, Government, Science or Operations

Any mission within the Coast Guard's sphere of influence is possible, including homeland security, search and rescue, drugs and migrant interdiction, intelligence, environmental protection, treaty enforcement and more.
