In the third of four parts of a House Judiciary Committee hearing, Attorney General Holder testified about Justice Department operations. Among the topics he addressed were Justice Department counterterrorism efforts, investigation and prosecution of financial crimes, and department inquiries into interrogation techniques used under the Bush administration that many claim amounted to torture. He also answered questions on a variety of issues such as enforcement of hate crimes legislation, the release of documents related to prisoner interrogations, and civil rights issues.
