HEARING ON HUD HOME PROGRAM FEATURES CONVICTED FELONS WHO DONATED TO GOP

Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL), a Member of the House Financial Services Committee and Ranking Democrat on the Insurance, Housing and Community Opportunity Subcommittee, participated in an unusual hearing today. The hearing, entitled “Fraud in the HUD HOME Program,” featured the testimony of two criminals convicted of defrauding the government, one of whom was a donor who contributed money to the GOP during the height of her embezzlement, according to FEC records.
