Distributing emergency information to employees

The Communications Office coordinates distribution of information to employees about any emergency, including protective action or evacuation instructions, through a variety of communications channels.

Offsite

• The Laboratory's public homepage will post information as it is received to http://www.lanl.gov.
• News releases will be posted to http://www.lanl.gov.
• An Update telephone line provides site status reports: (505) 667-6622 or toll-free (877) 723-4101.
• Employees can make specific inquiries about the emergency by contacting the Communications Office at (505) 667-7000.

Onsite at the Laboratory

• The Laboratory's internal homepage will post information as it is received to http://int.lanl.gov/.
• All-employee email messages will be sent when the situation requires reaching as many employees as possible as quickly as possible.
• An Update telephone line provides site status reports: (505) 667-6622 or toll-free (877) 723-4101.
• Employees can make specific inquiries about the emergency by contacting the Communications Office at (505) 667-7000.
• The Site Wide Area Notification System (SWANS) and the Laboratory’s trunked radio system are also sources of information.
