CAES Building

The 55,000-square-foot Center for Advanced Energy Studies building is located on University Boulevard in Idaho Falls, near both Idaho State University’s University Place campus and most of Idaho National Laboratory’s in-town facilities.

The CAES building is owned by the state of Idaho and maintained by Idaho State University. However, all four CAES partners – INL, Boise State University, ISU and University of Idaho - have staff, faculty and students who work at the Idaho Falls facility.

Ground was broken for the CAES building on February 20, 2007. It was dedicated two years later on February 20, 2009.

The CAES facility is one of the few certified “green” buildings in Idaho.
