Of note, this publication applies the principles and findings of the ECSP to the prevention of targeted violence against judicial officials. A separate study specifically examining judicial cases has not yet been conducted by NTAC. The United States Secret Service and Verizon Business have partnered in a study focusing on data theft, security breaches, and cyber-crime trends. In this study, non-attributable data was shared with Verizon Business from two hundred fifty-seven Secret Service investigations. The goal of the report is to provide an easy to understand study, containing metrics and statistics that underscore critical IT security and general risk-mitigation information. The main objective of the study is to help expand the collective understanding of breaches and continue to augment advanced detection and prevention efforts. Its list of key recommendations and lessons learned from both Secret Service cases and Verizon cases, spans the spectrum of both public and private sectors, and is applicable anywhere in the world. |
