Hey! My name is Ruby Surgent and I from Huntingtown, Maryland. I have a younger sister and an older brother. I was lucky enough to grow up in a neighborhood that was right on the Chesapeake Bay, which led me to my initial desire to join the Coast Guard.

In high school I played three varsity sports, lacrosse, xc, and indoor track and even played soccer outside of school. Here at the academy, considering all the schoolwork I decided to just workout on my own, play inter-company sports and lacrosse in the spring. As long as you get your two required sport credits, you can play any sport you want to try.
