   Major General Dempsey Kee, an ROTC graduate, was commissioned and entered active duty in July 1977, and attended the Quartermaster Basic Course, Petroleum Basic Course and Airborne School while stationed at Fort Lee, Virginia. After graduation he was assigned to the 240th Quartermaster Battalion, 267th Petroleum and Pipeline Company, Fort Lee, Virginia as a Petroleum Platoon Leader. General Kee’s next assignment was with the 7th Infantry Division Support Command, Supply and Transportation Battalion, A Company, Fort Ord, California, as the Executive Officer and Petroleum Platoon Leader. After this assignment, he served with the 200th Theater Army Materiel Management Center, Zweibruecken, Germany, as a Petroleum Staff Officer.
    Upon separation from active duty in 1982, General Kee transferred to the U.S. Army Reserves. He was assigned with the 363rd Support Group, San Marcos, Texas, as a Logistics Staff Officer. In 1983, he joined the 55th Materiel Management Center, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, where he served in positions of increased responsibility as a Petroleum Officer. In 1991, General Kee transferred to the 300th Area Support Group, Fort Lee, Virginia, where he served as Supply Officer, Plans and Operations Officer, Logistics Officer, and Host Nation Support Chief. In 1996, General Kee became the Petroleum Division Chief at the 310th Theater Army Area Command, Fort Belvoir, Virginia. From July 1996 to January 1997, he was mobilized for OPERATION JOINT ENDEAVOR. His assignment during this mobilization was with the Allied Central European Rapid Reaction Corps in Sarajevo, Bosnia. Upon his return from OPERATION JOINT ENDEAVOR, General Kee assumed command of the 310th Theater Army Area Command, Special Troops Battalion. Following this command assignment, he assumed command of the 310th Theater Support Command, 9th LOG. In 2000, General Kee was assigned to the 9th Theater Support Command, Support Operations Center, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, as the Distribution Management Center Chief. In 2001, he was selected to be the Commander, 55th Theater Materiel Management Center, Fort Belvoir. After completing this three year command assignment, General Kee was assigned to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Defense Distribution Center as the Joint Reserve Team and Army Reserve Element Lead. In 2005, he assumed the position as HQs DLA, Assistant J3 where he later deployed to Kuwait as the Director of CENTCOM’s Deployment and Distribution Operations Center. Upon return from Kuwait he was assigned to The Joint Staff as the Deputy Director for Logistics, J-4.
    
     General Kee is a graduate of the Quartermaster Basic and Advanced Courses, Petroleum Basic Course, Airborne School, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and U.S. Army War College.
    
     General Kee’s awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Superior Civilian Service Award, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal (with Silver Hourglass and “M” Device), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon, and NATO Medal.
    
     General Kee hails from Odessa, Texas. He and his wife, Mary, reside in Mount Vernon, Virginia.
