Industrial Security Facilities Database (ISFD)

ISFD Login

The ISFD will provide users with a nationwide perspective on National Industrial Security Program related facilities, as well as facilities under DSS oversight in the DoD conventional AA&E program. ISFD data will also provide source data for the DoD Joint Personnel Adjudicative System (JPAS) and the Facility Verification Request (FVR) application.

If you request a Facility Verification for a company that you have previously verified, ISFD will return the following error message: "A Facility Verification Request by user (user name) already exists for subject CAGE code (cage of requested company)."

This is a change to ISFD functionality. If you experience difficulty finding your previous verification, call the DoD Security Services Center at 1-888-282-7682 for assistance.

Some users have been unable to access ISFD. After entering their user ID and password, the system returns a blank screen. If this occurs, please perform the following:

Notices

(10/12/2012) Attention ALL ISFD Users: ISFD will be unavailable 5-10 PM EDT on Saturday, October 13, due to routine maintenance. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you.

(08/02/2012) ISFD PKI Enablement
Background: During the Fall of 2012 Defense Security Service will be integrating ISFD with the Identity Management (IdM) Solution, in compliance with the Joint Task Force-Global Network Operations requirement that "all components allow only certificate-based client authentication to private Department of Defense (DoD) Web servers using certificates issued by DoD Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Certificate Authorities." Following the integration effort, ISFD users will no longer be permitted to access ISFD directly from the web, but will be required to authenticate through IdM prior to logging into ISFD.

Impact: Users will be required to undergo a registration process* of up to three steps. Instructions detailing the ISFD PKI related registration processes are contained within the PDF following pages**.

  1. IdM Account Registration
  2. Certificate (CAC/PKI) Registration
  3. ISFD Account Request (new ISFD users only)

*This process serves as a precursor to Certificate-only access for ISFD, coming in 2013.
**Final screens and data fields are subject to change.

(02/02/12) Upcoming Personnel Security Investigation (PSI) Projection Survey
On March 30, 2012 DSS will deploy the Spring 2012 PSI Projection Survey to the FSOs of all active, cleared facilities. This Survey will collect PSI projections for FY2013-2015. (02/10/12) Attention ALL ISFD Users: Custom Reports Login Failures
Industrial Securities Facilities Database (ISFD) Internal users have experienced login failure while attempting to access Custom Reports. Research has determined that the issue originates from the format of reset passwords.

When prompted to reset ISFD passwords, users must choose new passwords which vary from the previous passwords by at least four (4) characters. Users not modifying their passwords with sufficient variation will cause their ISFD main and Custom Reports passwords to become out-of-sync.

The following are the minimum requirements for ISFD password resets*:

  1. Passwords must differ from previous by at least four (4) characters.
  2. Passwords cannot contain single quotes (') or double quotes (")
  3. Passwords cannot contain any whitespace characters (space, tab, etc.)
  4. Passwords must be at least 15 characters long
  5. Passwords must contain at least 2 numbers
  6. Passwords must contain at least 2 special characters
  7. Passwords cannot match any of your previous 10 passwords
  8. Passwords must contain at least 2 uppercase letters
  9. Passwords must contain at least 2 lowercase letters
  10. Passwords cannot contain any consecutive characters from the same key (e.g. "aa", "bB", or "1!")

For further assistance with ISFD main and Custom Reports access, please contact the DoD Security Services Center (1-888-282-7682, Call.Center@DSSHelp.org) for further assistance.

*Please note that user accounts will be locked following three (3) unsuccessful login attempts for either the main ISFD page or Custom Reports.
