CONGRESS PASSES SIX-MONTH STOP-GAP FUNDING LEGISLATION
September 26, 2012
The President is expected to sign a continuing resolution that would fund the federal government from Oct. 1, 2012--the start of the 2013 fiscal year (FY)--through March 27, 2013. The measure provides appropriations for most agencies, including NSF, at 0.612 percent above the FY 2012 level. The Senate passed the resolution by a 62-to-30 vote on Sept. 22. Earlier, on Sept. 13, the House passed the legislation by a vote of 329 to 91.
Congress is in recess until after the election.
