The Quantico Middle/High School Warriors Boy’s Soccer Team lost a hard-fought exhibition match, 7-0, to the Quantico United Soccer Club, the base soccer team, at the Quantico Middle/High School on April 4.
The Warriors’ head coach, Robert Humes, said he set up the exhibition with the Quantico United to expose his players to a higher caliber of soccer.
“Playing these guys makes our team better,” said Evangelos Chimonas, coach for Quantico United. “It also gives a chance to teach these kids a thing or two about the game.”
“We were able to match up with them at times,” Hume said, whose team is winless in four league games. “We’re getting better as a team and how we work together. It’s just a matter of time before we get the win.”
The Warrior’s next match is against Highland Spring High School, from Highland Spring, Va. at Quantico Middle/High School at 6:30 p.m., on Wednesday.
