Other ServicesCalibration and Related Measurement Services NIST provides calibration fee-based services for a wide variety of metrology uncertainties. from thermometers to antennas. NIST calibrations satisfy the most demanding and explicit measurement requirements, in that these services are carried out regularly under pre-established and well-defined conditions; the measurement processes involved are well-characterized, stable and in a state of statistical control; and quality control procedures are well-defined and strictly followed. These services are described in the website For more information on available calibration services inquiries should be directed to: Calibration Services Standard Reference Data NIST provides well-documented, numeric data and critically evaluated uncertainty values to scientists and engineers for use in technical problem solving, research, and development. These recommended values called Standard Reference Data, are based on data which have been extracted from the world's literature, assessed for reliability, and then evaluated to select the preferred values. The primary vehicles for dissemination of this data are the websites, NIST Standard Reference Database Series, and the Journal of Physical and Chemical Reference Data (JPCRD). For database and publication information, please contact the following: Standard Reference Data Accreditation of Laboratories The National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) provides third party accreditation to testing and calibration laboratories. NVLAP's accreditation programs are established in response to Congressional mandates or administrative actions by the Federal Government or from requests by private sector organizations. NVLAP is in full conformance with the standards of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), including ISO/IEC 17025 and Guide 58. Application packages may be obtained from: National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program National Center for Standards and Certification Information The National Center for Standards and Certification Information (NCSCI) provides information on U.S., foreign and international voluntary standards, government regulations, and conformity assessment procedures for non-agricultural products. NCSCI staff respond to inquiries by identifying relevant standards and/or regulations, maintain a reference collection of standards and standards-related documents (they do not provide copies), and serve as the U.S. inquiry point for information to and from foreign countries. Inquiries should be directed to: National Center for Standards and Certification Information Proficiency Sample Program The Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL) and AASHTO Materials Reference Laboratory (AMRL) are Research Associate Programs located in the NIST Building and Fire Research Laboratory. CCRL is sponsored by ASTM and AMRL is sponsored by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO). CCRL and AMRL operate proficiency sample programs which support their mission of promoting the quality of testing in construction materials laboratories. CCRL distributes samples of portland, blended and masonry cements; hydraulic cement concrete; masonry mortar and concrete masonry units; and pozzolans. AMRL distributes samples of soil, aggregates, asphalt binders, and hot-mix asphalt concrete. |
