Welcome to For Your Heart – a website created to empower women to lower their risk for heart disease.Every woman is unique — we come in all different shapes and sizes, have different ethnic backgrounds, family histories, eating patterns, exercise routines, and countless other distinctions. These differences are what define us; they are the special ingredients that make us unique from everyone else.
Just as there are many varieties of women, there is no single definition of heart disease. Unfortunately, the distinct qualities that help to define who we are, are also the risk factors that define our individual risk for heart disease. Depending on the combination of risk factors, some women maybe more at risk than others. Luckily, not all risk factors are genetic. In fact, there are many risky behaviors that you can opt-out of to reduce your chances of heart disease. Not sure if you're at risk for heart disease? Be proactive for better heart health!
