Test Development Division

The Test Development Division of the Directorate of Evaluation and Standardization, DLIFLC is the largest standardized foreign language test development organization in the United States. Responsible for the design, development and validation of the Defense Language Proficiency Tests (DLPT) for listening and reading skill assessment, Test Development Division has ongoing concurrent test development projects in as many as twelve languages at any one time. DLPT tests must be updated and revised on a regular cycle to maintain test security and content timeliness. Test Development Division monitors DLIFLC-developed tests for quality control and system improvement. In addition, the division provides consultation services to DLIFLC language schools in test planning, design, development, review, validation and analysis.
