The strategic use of information technology has and will continue to transform the way government does business.  

Some of the GSA cross-agency IT initiatives and programs include Data.gov, E-Gov travel, govsales.gov, Integrated Acquisition Environment, USA Services, and Financial Management line of business (LoB).

IT Strategic Plan

The GSA IT Strategic Business Plan - (2012 - 2015) - The Office of the Chief Information Officer – in partnership with the information technology organizations at the Public Buildings Service, Federal Acquisition Service and GSA Staff Offices – has developed this agencywide strategic business plan for fiscal years 2012 to 2015 to guide IT’s support of the business of GSA.

The GSA IT community seeks to continually improve services at GSA, taking advantage of advances in technology, while working to provide superior services. All GSA employees are encouraged to read this document.

Annual E-Government Status Update

OMB Exhibit 300 E-Gov Travel (ETS) - (PDF 354 KB) The E-Gov Travel Service (ETS) standardizes, automates, and consolidates the federal government's travel process in a web-centric service, covering all steps of a travel transaction, from authorization and reservations to travel claims and voucher reconciliation.

OMB Exhibit 300 eLease - (PDF 427 KB) eLease supports the electronic Transaction Management Playbook (eTMP) initiative. eTMP provides an interactive, online tool for gathering agency space requirements.

OMB Exhibit 300 Electronic Acquisition System (EAS) Comprizon - (PDF 547 KB)  The Electronic Acquisition System (EAS)/Comprizon Suite is a centralized web-enabled electronic procurement system with a range of fully functional tools designed to support nationwide Public Building Service acquisition preparation, tracking, and reporting.

OMB Exhibit 300 Federal Asset Sales (e-gov) - (PDF 387 KB)  Federal Asset Sales (eFAS) is an e-government initiative designed to improve and optimize the way the federal government disposes of its assets.

OMB Exhibit 300 Federal Real Property Asset Management (FRPAM) - (PDF 387 KB)  The FRPP allows federal agencies to measure real property asset performance, ultimately assisting them in identifying assets for renovation, disposal, or for potential transfer to other federal agencies.

OMB Exhibit 300 Financial Management Line of Business (FMLOB) - (PDF 371 KB)  GSA is one of four federal agencies selected to provide Financial Management Line of Business (FMLOB) services to other federal agencies. GSA operates a shared-services financial operation providing a commercial-off-the-shelf financial system (in a private-vendor hosted environment), financial transaction processing, and financial analysis for its main business lines.

OMB Exhibit 300 GSA Office of Enterprise Infrastructure (OEI) - (PDF 537 KB)  As part of the GSA OCIO, Office of Enterprise Infrastructure (OEI) is an agencywide, steady-state, networking utility supporting GSA lines of business.

OMB Exhibit 300 Human Capital Information Technology Services - (PDF 384 KB)  CHRIS was designed to meet the ever-growing and quickly changing needs of the federal human resources community.

OMB Exhibit 300 Integrated Acquisition Environment (IAE) - (PDF 760 KB)  The IAE was selected as a Presidential e-government initiative in November, 2001 to improve government performance and management.

OMB Exhibit 300 IT Infrastructure Line of Business (IOI) - (PDF 445 KB)  The Infrastructure Optimization Initiative (IOI) was chartered in 2006 by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and later designated as the IT Infrastructure Line of Business (ITILOB). The GSA is the initiative's managing partner.

OMB Exhibit 300 National Electronic Accounting and Reporting (NEAR) - (PDF 291 KB)  The National Electronic Accounting and Reporting (NEAR) system is systematically being replaced to align with the GSA FMLOB solution.

OMB Exhibit 300 Network Services Ordering and Billing System - (PDF 439 KB)  Network Services Ordering and Billing System supports customer agencies' enterprisewide networking requirements and operational needs by applying FTS acquisition and technical expertise to craft integrated solutions fit to mission needs.

OMB Exhibit 300 PAR (e-Payroll) - (PDF 279 KB)  GSA's payroll system offers payroll services that are scalable, reliable, flexible and cost competitive, while permitting other agencies to eliminate their systems and devote their staff resources to the mission critical functions of the agency.

OMB Exhibit 300 Regional Business Application (RBA) - (PDF 312 KB)  As an integrated e-commerce workflow solution, the Regional Business Application (RBA) supports FAS staff, clients and industry partners in the creation and management of task and delivery order processing.

OMB Exhibit 300 Regulatory Information Service Center (ROCIS II) - (PDF 376 KB)  OMB's Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) and GSA's Regulatory Information Service Center (RISC) are developing and operating a new information system, the RISC/OIRA Consolidated Information System (ROCIS), to support and integrate three different, but related functions.

OMB Exhibit 300 System for Tracking and Administrating Real Property (STAR) - (PDF 530 KB)  The STAR/Realty Services is a mission-critical real property management and inventory system used by GSA Public Buildings Service to support space management, revenue generation and budgeting.

OMB Exhibit 300 USA Services (E-Gov) - (PDF 431 KB)  As an E-Gov initiative, USA Services (USAS) continues to improve the federal government service and overall responsiveness to citizen inquiries.

OMB Exhibit 300 USA.gov Infrastructure - (PDF 346 KB)  The USA.gov.gov website has been endorsed by the E-Gov Act as the federal government's primary portal for citizen access to information, and is a focus of OMB's Office of E-Government and Information Technology.
