State Profile

Pennsylvania is located in the Middle Atlantic region of the United States, with its state capital located in Harrisburg. Pennsylvania has 67 counties spread over 46,058.2 square miles of land. The largest county is Philadelphia county. According to the 2010 Census, Pennsylvania has a population of 12,702,379 residents. Pennsylvania residents are predominantly Caucasian (81.9%), with a significant African-American population (11.3%). Hispanics make up 5.9% of the population and Asians make up 2.9% of the population.
