Roles in the Corps: Tanks
Tank crewmen prepare the tanks, ammunition, personnel and equipment for movement and combat. Their jobs include operating, maintaining, firing and maneuvering the 70-ton M1A1 Abrams Tank.
The mainstay of the Ground Combat Element is the infantry, but every Marine on the ground is ably supported by artillery, amphibious assault vehicles, tanks and combat engineers. See more roles on the Ground.
