Description: This course specifically addresses the intentions and capabilities of the three to five most significant adversaries to the United States and to DoD. It also examines the multifaceted concept of threat: Who presents a threat? What are internal and external threats? What is being threatened? Who can provide a threat assessment? The course addresses counterintelligence, counterterrorism, insider threats, and threats to critical information systems. In addition, this course covers such critical threats as embezzlement, physical sabotage, violence in the workplace by disgruntled employees, and others that must be addressed by the senior security manager. The course familiarizes students with government and non-government sources of reliable threat information.

Target Audience: U.S military members and civilian government employees preparing for leadership responsibilities in DoD Security.

Clearance Requirement: Secret - Student clearance eligibility access information must be documented in the Joint Clearance Access Verification System (JCAVS).

This course requires students to complete weekly assignments including reading, research and writing assignments similar to those required for a three semester hour graduate-level course. Students must make significant commitment of time to complete these assignments.
