Brig. Gen. Timothy G. Fay is the Deputy Director, Command, Control and Nuclear Operations, Joint Staff, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. He is responsible for advising the Secretary of Defense, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Joint Staff Director of Operations regarding nuclear, space, and missile defense operations as well as all aspects of the National Military Command System.

General Fay was commissioned following his graduation from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1987. His previous assignments include instructor pilot and weapons officer duties in the B-52 and B-2, and staff service at Headquarters, U.S. Strategic Command. He served in Operations Desert Storm, Allied Force and Iraqi Freedom, and is a command pilot with more than 3,900 flight hours. In his previous assignment, he served as Commander of the 2nd Bomb Wing, Barksdale Air Force Base, La.
