Test Management Division

The Test Management Division is the key customer-service component of the Directorate of Evaluation and Standardization, DLIFLC. It provides independent, high-quality test scheduling, administration, scoring and score reporting services for all in-course proficiency tests taken by DLIFLC's resident students. Through the Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) program, the division provides test support to U.S. Government linguists worldwide. The division schedules and administers over 6,000 listening and reading DLPTs and 7,000 OPIs to resident and non-resident linguists annually.

Upon request, the division lends expertise, guidance and leadership regarding availability of foreign language tests, proper testing procedures, test security and test control to the military services and agencies throughout the Department of Defense. It maintains a test archival system, prepares reports on test administration and test security, and regularly coordinates with the Defense Language Office (DLO) to ensure the timely dissemination of information across the linguist user community concerning the status of all Defense Language Proficiency Tests. In addition, the division handles all incidences or suspected incidences of test compromise involving the DLPT or DLAB.
