The EUCOM Studies Program, managed by the ECJ7 Analysis and Assessments Directorate, is intended to manage major research projects that support new or ongoing EUCOM initiatives. The Studies Program aims to provide value to a new mission, support the EUCOM Commander’s or a directorate’s priorities and explore areas beyond EUCOM staff responsibility.

The studies program collects requests and manages a library of study recommendations. It leads semi-annual decision boards to determine which studies will receive funding, consults with J9 and others on the best source for a study, and oversees study contracts, project plans, timelines, and deliverables. Studies can be completed using various methodologies, types of research and levels of formality which require funding support or assistance from outside agencies or contracting.

The studies program allows studies from military or civilian universities and schools, think tanks, or industry counterparts to get outside perspective of how EUCOM does business and how streamlining improves processes across the area of operations.
