Application packages MUST contain the following:

          1.   A Stat Tour Application Work Sheet - If you are deployed or will be deployed during the application and selection process,
                then you must give this office an email address where you can be reached if questions arise regarding your application
                review. This office is not responsible for application emails sent to incorrect email addresses, therefore causing your
                application to be incomplete or not forwarded as qualified.

          2.   Endorsement: (Sample Letter) Must have separate letter for each MVA announcement applying for that includes the MVA
                announcement number. .
                  a. ANG Field Members (AGR, Tech, Drill) -- Must have State Adjutant General (TAG) or designated
                      representative (i.e. ATAG)   *** Required for all States*** 
                  b. ANG Statutory Tour Members -- Must have Director Concurrence 
                  c. REGAF and Reserve members -- Not required 

          3.   Resume (AGR forms are not accepted)

          4.   All pages of records review RIP not more than 6 month old. (vMPF RIP highly desired). Data Verification Brief (DVB) brief
                is not accepted. It does not contain all information needed for qualification.
All information to qualify you for an MVA must
                be present within your rip. If your RIP is incorrect, it is your responsibility to update your records with the local FSS and
                provide documentation to NGB/HR. Please contact us with any concerns.

          5.   Officers must submit their last five (5) required Officer Performance Reports (OPRs). IAW MPFM 07-45 dated 11 Jul 07,
                para 17b "OPRs on AFRC and ANG Officers are due to the CSS no later than 30 days after close-out and to HQ ARPC
                no later than 60 days after close-out."

                  a. ANG Lieutenant Colonel applicants - If the advertisement requires ALL OPR's, you may request for an OPR Validation
                      Certificate from ANGRC/NGB/APPLY, hr.apply@ang.af.mil. Submit all OPR's for verification. Once complete the
                      "Validation Certificate" can be submitted along with the last 5 OPR's in lieu of all OPR's in the application package.
                      The validation certificate will expire on the due date of your next OPR or one year from the issue date. OPR
                      validations are not mandatory and can be used for other MVAs throughout the year.
                  b. When ALL OPRs are required, Lt Col applicants must submit copies of ALL OPRs, Training Reports (AF Form 475)
                      and Letters of Evaluation (AF Form 77) (for break in service, missing evaluations, etc) - OPRs are required to ensure
                      the member's record, if selected, would be competitive for promotion to Colonel. Validation Certificate with last five
                      OPRs may also be provided. Col applicants must be submit the last five OPRs only.

           6.   A signed copy of NGB Form 830 Statement of Understanding (Digital or Ink Signature Accepted). 
                 (To digitally sign, please open using the PureEdge format and then save as a PDF/Adobe file to ensure your digital
                 signature is locked)

           7.   Fitness Standards: Member must be within fitness standards as established by AFI 36-2905. Plan accordingly to ensure
                 your package arrives on time. Please submit a printout from AFFMS (AF Fitness Management System) via the AF Portal
                 of your current fitness results. Per the new fitness standards, must have a meet the minimum requirements for all four
                 components: RegAF, AFR, and ANG (Title 10) Airmen who test in all four components (cardio: 1.5 mile run or one- mile
                 walk; AC measurement; push-ups; and sit-ups) of the new fitness program on/after 1 July 2010 and who score an
                 "excellent" (90 or above) are only required to test once a year. These Airmen will retest by the last day of the month,
                 12 calendar months following the previous "excellent" test date. This guidance supersedes the scheduling and currency
                 guidelines established in AFI 36-2905 (dated 1 July 10), paragraph 2.11.1.1 and 2.12.1. Airmen who score an "excellent"
                 but were medically exempt from testing in one or more of the four components will continue to test twice a year and
                 Airmen who score satisfactory (89.9 and below) or unsatisfactory (74.9 and below) will continue to test IAW AFI 36-2905,
                 para 2.11 and 2.12.

                 Members who are on a profile (AF Form 422) may NOT be exempt from all components of fitness testing. The
                 components indicated on the AF Form 422 MUST be completed (if not exempt) and annotated in AFFMS. NGB/HR
                 does not accept AF Form 422s in lieu of AFFMS results. You must submit a current PT test. 

           8.   List 3 references with contact information (all 3 should be listed on the same sheet of paper) Letters of reference may
                 be included in addition to the references but are not required.

           9.   If you are taking a voluntary demotion, a statement of acknowledgement in writing that if selected, the lower grade
                 (state the grade) is accepted, IAW ANGI 36-2503, paragraph 3.4.3.Application packages MUST contain the following
                 if directed in the MVA announcement.

          10.  To reduce Personally Identifiable Information (PII), redact any entire SSNs and any "last four" SSN's on ALL documents
                except the stat-tour application worksheet prior to application submission

Application packages MUST contain the following ONLY if directed by the MVA announcement: 

           1.   If a Photo is required please email to hr.apply@ang.af.mil included in your application package. Official photo
                specifications: plain background, full length, in service dress (blues)

           2.   Members in a Special Duty Career Field (SDI)/Reporting Identifiers (RI) must submit a conditional release letter from
                 your Functional Area Manager (FAM) stating you have fulfilled all obligations and will be released if selected for the
                 position you are applying for.
                    a. If selected for an MVA outside of the SDI (8XXX) or RDI (9XXX) you must have a fully qualified AFSC prior to
                        accession onto Stat Tour AFSC(1XXX-7XXX) 

           3.   AF Form 422 with the PULHES scores.

           4.   CCAF degree

           5.   Certification Certificates 

           6.   Example of writing/interviewing skills

Scanning / Redaction of Packages / Photo Submission

**Printing of application, manual redaction (marker/white out), and scanning with the below instructions may help reduce file size. 

           1.   Scan or convert all documents into ONE PDF file, Black and White, Lowest possible DPI in order to reduce file size 

                 Scanning to make a PDF file:
                     - Open up Adobe Acrobat
                     - Click on the Create PDF
                     - Choose "from scanner"
                     - Select your Scanning Source (i.e. select your scanner)
                     - Select Recognize Text Using OCR "checkbox"
                              -- Recognize Text Using OCR - click Settings
                                         --- Primary OCR Language - English (US)
                                         --- PDF Output Style - Searchable Image
                                         --- Downsample Image - Lowest (600 dpi)
                              -- Uncheck the Add tags to Document
                     - Click - Scan 
                     - You should always use Text; never use Photo, Web or any other settings. 
                     - Make sure that the Text block is checked
                     - Resolution: 300x300 dpi
                     - Scan Type - always Black and White, including photos for jobs requesting personal photos
                     - Brightness: Needs to be set to -20
                     - Document Size: Letter 8 1/2x11 in

             2.   When sending photos: Photo size and specifications for scanning:
                     - 3.5"x5" 
                     - 300dpi (Dots Per Inch) no more no less
                     - *.jpg format
                     - Official photo specifications include: plain background, full length, in service dress (blues)

             3.   Redact your entire SSN and any "last four" SSN's on ALL documents except the MVA application worksheet 
                       Open the document
                       Go to "Tools" "upper right hand corner"
                       Go to "Protection"
                       Under "Protection" please select "Mark for Redaction"
                       Use your cursor to make a complete box around your social security number or last 4.
                       Go to "Apply Redactions"

             4.   To further reduce the size of your application please
                        Select "File" "Save
                        As" "Reduced Size PDF" 
                        Select "Acrobat 10 and later"
                        Select "OK"

             Save your application package on your computer with the "applied redactions" prior to submitting via email.

             ****If you are unable to redact package using the above guidelines, please whiteout or remove the information to the best of
                  your ability.
 

 Application Package Arrival

Applications must arrive at the Air National Guard Readiness Center Human Resources (NGB/HRS) Office not later than close of business (midnight EST) on the closeout date of the job advertisement. Applications must be complete upon initial receipt, in 1 single PDF package. Packages that have not been redacted or contain multiple documents will be returned without review.

Incomplete packages, packages not meeting mandatory criteria or packages received after the close out date as indicated on the job advertisement will NOT be considered.

Applications submitted on the close out date will be reviewed for qualification or disqualification only. Please ensure you review your application thoroughly.

Upon review ANG/HRS will notify candidates whose application is not complete or not qualified via email address supplied on the stat tour worksheet. Those candidates will have until close of business (midnight EST) on the close-out date of the job advertisement to provide the documentation necessary to complete/qualify their package.

Email constraints limit the size of an application to 4 MB. Please submit files in 2 - 3 complete PDF files to ensure server acceptance.

      Headquarters Active Duty Jobs (Title 10) associated with the Statutory Tour Program may be forwarded to hr.apply@ang.af.mil.

B.   Questions concerning enlistment, appointment or transfer into the ANG should be forwarded to recruiting2@ang.af.mil.

C.   Full-time positions within the units are handled locally through the state Human Resource Offices (HRO). For information

Common Questions

Q: If I feel I am qualified for a job but do not have all required criteria in the advertisement, will I be considered for the position?
A: No. MVAs contain criteria and application procedures unique to a specific position. Criteria vary with each advertised position; however, all positions require eligibility for ANG membership, certain experience and grade requirements. The mandatory criteria listed in paragraph 1 of the announcement are not waiverable.

Q. I am a REGAF member, can I apply?
A. Read the top of each MVA carefully, if it states; Open to RES, REGAF and ANG you can apply. If you are selected for a position you will go through the palace chase process in which AFPC is the final approving official. **Please note: If you are a REGAF officer and have over 18yrs TAFMS in service you cannot apply according to IAW AFI 36-2005 Table 2.2 item 27.

Q: How long is a Statutory Tour?
A: Stat tours are between 2 - 4 years and determined by the hiring Directorate.

Q: If I want to apply for more than one position, can I send one package for all?
A: No. Separate packages are required for each position you wish to apply for.

Q: What does "Promotable" mean?
A: Promotable means that all requirements; Current Rank, Time in Grade, Time in service, PME, etc have been completed for advancement to the next higher grade. To find out the requirements for promotion, click on appropriate category:

Q: Can I find out who or how many others applied for the position?
A: No. We do not release individual's names or the number of applications we receive for a position.

Q: How will I be notified if I am selected?
A: Nominations and non-selections are announced only by NGB/HRS. Do not take any action that will obligate you or the government on the assumption that you will be selected. This includes selling your home, quitting your job, etc. You are not considered "hired" until you have published orders in hand.

NOTE: Application for an MVA signifies agreement to the following statement, in accordance with Title 18 United States Code 1001: "I certify that, to the best of my knowledge and belief, all of the information on and attached to this application is true, correct, complete and made in good faith. I understand that false or fraudulent information on or attached to this application may be grounds for rejection or for release from statutory tour after I begin work, and may be punishable by fine or imprisonment. I understand that any information I give may be investigated."
